Women United in Philanthropy’s Mission: Engage with like-minded women, learn about community needs and philanthropy, and leverage collective giving to support human services for local women and children.

Women United in Philanthropy is a Collective Giving organization and our members are the center of our success. Together, members of WUP have given more than half a million dollars to local non-profits and are profoundly impacting women and children in our region.
We warmly welcome you and hope to grow our membership each year. As we have already voted on our 2022 grant recipients, all new and renewing memberships will now be directed to our 2023 collective fund. Click here for WUP Overview.
Individual Giving Levels
WUP Associate: $120 – $249
All Women United in Philanthropy Associates are encouraged to nominate non-profits for and vote on recipients for our annual Grant Awards. Associates are also invited to all events, receive a discount for a seat or table at our annual luncheon, and may serve on any of the Women United in Philanthropy committees. Recognition:
- Formal acknowledgment of your membership
- Name listed on the WUP website under “Associates” heading
WUP Friend: $250 – $499
All Women United in Philanthropy Friends are encouraged to nominate non-profits for and vote on recipients for our annual Grant Awards. Friends are also invited to all events, receive a discount for a seat or table at our annual luncheon, and may serve on any of the Women United in Philanthropy committees. Recognition:
- Formal acknowledgment of your membership
- Handwritten thank you note signed by Membership committee member
- WUP pin
- Name listed on the WUP website under “Friends” heading
WUP Supporter: $500 – $999
All Women United in Philanthropy Supporters are encouraged to nominate non-profits for and vote on recipients for our annual Grant Awards. Supporters are also invited to all events, receive a discount for a seat or table at our annual luncheon, and may serve on any of the Women United in Philanthropy committees. Recognition:
- Formal acknowledgment of your membership
- Handwritten thank you note signed by the WUP President
- WUP pin
- Name listed on the WUP website under “Supporters” heading
WUP Partner: $1000+
All Women United in Philanthropy Partners are encouraged to nominate non-profits for and vote on recipients for our annual Grant Awards. Partners are also invited to all events, receive a discount for a seat or table at our annual luncheon, and may serve on any of the Women United in Philanthropy committees. Recognition:
- Formal acknowledgment of your membership
- Handwritten thank you note signed by the WUP President
- WUP pin
- Personal telephone call from the WUP President
- Name listed on the WUP website under “Partners” heading
- Partner’s name listed on slides before and after annual luncheon, educational events, etc
- Invitation to a special event for private sponsors and corporate underwriters
- Formal acknowledgment of your membership
- Name listed on the WUP website under “Student” heading.
Corporate Giving Levels
Annual Corporate Member: $600 – $1499
Corporate Members join in the name of their company, or a business may designate a local woman of their choice to be a Women United in Philanthropy member. Corporate Members receive,
- Formal acknowledgment of your membership
- Handwritten thank you note signed by Membership committee member
- Name listed with their company name on the Women United in Philanthropy website and on select marketing materials
Annual Corporate Underwriter: $1500 or more
Corporate Underwriter includes one Corporate Membership and will receive:
- Formal acknowledgment of your membership
- Handwritten thank you note signed by Membership committee member
- Recognition on social media and at select Women United in Philanthropy events
- The company logo on select marketing items including occasional mass emails to members
- Name listed on the WUP website under “Corporate Underwriter” heading
- The company logo with link on our Sponsor page
- Invitation to a special event for private sponsors and corporate underwriters
Payment Plan!
You may join or renew your membership online (via credit card) or through the mail (via check payment). If mailing a check, please download this membership form to include it with payment. If using Sponsor a Friend form to include it with payment. Completed forms can be mailed to Women United in Philanthropy, 200 Garrett Street, Suite I, Charlottesville, VA 22902. If joining or renewing via credit card, please fill out the online donation form below. Thank you!
*Any individual member may set up 12 monthly payments of $10/month. Monthly payment plans will continue for one year (12 charges). You may adjust your monthly gift at any time by contacting Women United at (434) 972-1715 or WomenUnited@UnitedWayCville.org
